If you use your automatic headlights, here is a few things you may not know. Your headlights operate by using a sensor usually mounted on your dashboard close to the bottom of the windshield. This sensor like most program lights, detects the absence of light to turn on your headlamps. Now with a good majority of auto headlamps you will notice that they come on if your wipers are on as well which can be very useful, however this is not the case with all makes and models. Additionally, if there is enough light permeating through your windshield, for instance: fog in the daytime, your lights will NOT come on. As a safety precaution always be sure to check that your headlamps are on during heavy fog or inclement weather conditions by changing your headlamps settings to ON instead of AUTO.
